Be yourself
You don't need to be funny, impressive, or perfect. Just be authentic. The best speed dating conversations are honest ones.
Respect the format
Each date lasts 5 minutes. Stay present — don't go idle, leave early, or repeatedly skip without participating.
Accept outcomes gracefully
Not every conversation will lead to a match, and that's perfectly fine. Respect the other person's right to rate how they genuinely feel.

🌈 LGBTQ+ events are a protected space
Our LGBTQ+ format is a dedicated, inclusive environment. Joining with intent to mock, disrupt, or cause discomfort results in an immediate and permanent ban.
Zero tolerance for discrimination
Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic is not tolerated in any form.
No unsolicited contact after events
P2P match chats are for mutual matches only. Attempting to contact someone who didn't match with you is harassment.
Respect "no" and silence
If someone doesn't match with you, that is a complete answer. Do not seek explanations or attempt to contact them outside the platform.
What happens in the chat, stays in the chat
Conversations during events are private. Do not screenshot, record, or share the content of any chat — even after the event ends — without explicit consent.
Handle contact details with care
If someone shares their phone number or social media handle in a match chat, treat that as personal trust. Do not share it with others.
You control your information
You are never required to share personal contact details. See our Privacy Policy for how SpeedDate handles your data.
We take all reports seriously. Actions depend on severity of the violation.

Report in-event
During a speed date, use the 🚨 report button in the chat interface. Your report is sent directly to our moderation team.
Report after the event
Email safety@speed-dating.org with participant name, time, event date, and description. We review all safety reports within 24 hours.
